Iran’s coronavirus death rises to 57,150
Iran has reported 79 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 57,560, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
After 6,420 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,385,706 in the country.
There are at least 4,038 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,177,367 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 9,015,376 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,152,312 with 100,379,791 cases and more than 72,423,522 recoveries. (ILKHA)
