After 6,207 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,367,032 in the country.

There are at least 4,106 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,158,475 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

So far, more than 8,634,553 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,121,897 with 98,970,735 cases and more than 71,116,037 recoveries. (ILKHA)
