Magnitude 6.4 earthquake hits Argentina
Powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit northwestern Argentine late Monday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake, which caused panic among the residents, had a preliminary magnitude of 6.4.
Its epicenter was 27.6 kilometers southwest of the town of Porcito and struck at a depth of 14 kilometers.
According to the local media, there are reports of damage to some buildings in the Pocito area and at least one road being disrupted.
Electricity also failed in spots and some goods were shaken from supermarket shelves
There were no immediate reports of casualties as some power outages were reported in the quake area.
No tsunami warning has been issued. (ILKHA)
