Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,016 new cases, 86 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 86 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 56,803, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Sunday.
After 6,016 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,330,411 in the country.
There are at least 6,016 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,119,137 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, at least 8,527,307 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,032,930 with 95,055,008 cases and more than 67,895,537 recoveries. (ILKHA)
