Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,408 new cases, 98 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 98 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 56,360, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
After 6,408 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,299,022 in the country.
There are at least 4,507 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,088,465 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, at least 8,262,166 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,955,360 with 91,401,525 cases and more than 65,419,098 recoveries. (ILKHA)
