Palestinians ward off attack by Jewish settlers in Nablus
Palestinian citizens on Saturday evening fended off a horde of extremist Jewish settlers as they were trying to attack local residents and their property near Burqa town in northern Nablus.
Local official Ghassan Daghlas said that citizens from Burqa town managed to confront a gang of violent settlers near Jabal al-Qusour area in the town and chased them to the area where the illegal settlement of Homesh was once located.
Meanwhile, groups of settlers rallied on the Qalqilya-Nablus road and the Ramallah-Nablus road and hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles. No one was reportedly hurt in the attacks.
During recent weeks, youth groups of settlers, under military and police protection, staged nighttime rallies in different areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem and launched attacks against Palestinian citizens, cars and homes. (ILKHA)
