Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,251 new cases, 85 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 85 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 56,018, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 6,251 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,274,514 in the country.
There are at least 4,729 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,058,654 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, at least 8,044,799 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,908,676 with 88,601,214 cases and more than 63,691,124 recoveries. (ILKHA)
