Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,360 new cases, 103 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 103 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 55,993, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 6,360 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,268,263 in the country.
There are at least 4,700 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,050,000 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, about 8 million tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,893,473 with 87,744,338 cases and more than 63,212,508 recoveries. (ILKHA)
