Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,113 new cases, 98 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 98 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 55,748, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
After 6,113 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,255,620 in the country.
There are at least 4,829 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,029,028 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 7,885,416 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,863,090 with 86,195,878 cases and more than 61,176,060 recoveries. (ILKHA)
