110 more people have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours in the country, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 55,650.

There are at least 4,901 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,020,737 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

So far, more than 7,831,359 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,852,264 with 85,574,402 cases and more than 60,545,080 recoveries. (ILKHA)
