Coronavirus: Iran reports 5,960 new cases, 102 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 102 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 55,540, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Sunday.
After 5,960 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,243,434 in the country.
There are at least 4,953 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,013,018 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 7,777,488 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,845,076 with 85,049,977 cases and more than 60,179,056 recoveries. (ILKHA)
