Saudi Arabia lifts travel ban related to new coronavirus variant
Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry has scrapped coronavirus-related temporary travel ban imposed last December, finally reopening borders and resuming international travel.
The Ministry announced in a statement that it will lift all restrictions on the entry and exit of citizens by means of land, sea, and air transport on January 3.
The civil servants, those in dire need of medical treatment abroad, businessmen, students, and essential workers will be exempted from all kinds of coronavirus-related travel bans imposed in the country, according to the statement.
As of January 2, Saudi Arabia has 362,979 confirmed cases, the highest among the Arabian Gulf States with 354,263 recoveries and 6,239 deaths. (ILKHA)
