Iran records 6,045 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
After 6,045 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,237,474 in Iran, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Saturday.
101 more people have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours in the country, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 55,438.
There are at least 4,981 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,004,326 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 7,723,377 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,837,569 with 84,480,308 cases and more than 59,778,768 recoveries. (ILKHA)
