Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,286 new cases, 114 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 114 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 55,337, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 6,286 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,231,429 in the country.
There are at least 5,013 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 995,570 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 7,670,268 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,827,941 with 83,915,057 cases and more than 59,414,635 recoveries. (ILKHA)
