Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,390 new cases, 128 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 128 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 55,223, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 6,390 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,225,142 in the country.
There are at least 5,039 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 988,833 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 7,566,946 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,814,951 with 83,193,729 cases and more than 58,975,128 recoveries. (ILKHA)
