Huge explosion rocks Aden airport in Yemen soon after new cabinet members' landing
According to initial reports, undersecretary for the Ministry of Human Rights for Yemen dead in the explosion at Aden Airport.
The transfer of the cabinet members, including Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik, to the presidential palace of Masheeq was secured without injury from the attack.
Many people were injured in the airport which was hit by 3 mortars.
The attack was carried out when the plane carrying members of the new government formed as part of the Saudi Arabia-backed Riyadh Agreement landed Aden International Airport.
According to ACLED (Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project), over 100,000 people have been killed in Yemen, including more than 12,000 civilians, as well as estimates of more than 85,000 dead as a result of an ongoing famine due to the civil war, which began in September 2014. (ILKHA)
