Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,108 new cases, 132 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 132 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 54,946, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
After 6,108 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,212,481 in the country.
There are at least 5,128 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 969,408 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 7,513,534 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,783,861 with 81,761,237 cases and more than 57,901,921 recoveries. (ILKHA)
