Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,178 new cases, 152 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 152 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 54,308, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 6,178 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,183,182 in the country.
There are at least 5,371 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 924,685 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 7,253,750 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,740,228 with 79,176,038 cases and more than 55,766,051 recoveries. (ILKHA)
