Coronavirus: Iran reports 6,208 new cases, 187 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 187 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 54,003, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
After 6,208 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,170,743 in the country.
There are at least 5,467 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 903,998 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 7,149,357 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,711,508 with 77,817,977 cases and more than 54,707,695 recoveries. (ILKHA)
