Leyla Güven sentenced to 22 years in Jail
Leyla Güven, former HDP (People's Democracy Party) deputy, was sentenced Monday to 22 years and 3 months in jail over her DTK (Democratic Society Congress) activities.
The court board also issued an arrest warrant against Güven, who was stripped of her parliamentary immunity in June.
She was sentenced in a court of Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakır province on terror-related charges.
Leyla Güven was HDP MP for Hakkari, co-chair of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and former mayor of the municipality of Viranşehir in the Şanlıurfa Province of Southeast Anatolia of Turkey, where she represented the former Democratic Society Party (DTP). (ILKHA)
