Iran records 7,121 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
After 7,121 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,145,651 in Iran, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
178 more people have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours in the country, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 53,273.
There are at least 5,627 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 865,474 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 6,944,462 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,670,000 with 75,394,193 cases and more than 52,948,229 recoveries. (ILKHA)
