HAMAS cancels anniversary celebrations due to Covid-19
The Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) announced on Sunday the launch of activities to celebrate its 33rd anniversary.
In a press conference held in front of Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmad Yassin’s house in Gaza, Hamas official Nasim Yassin said that his movement is celebrating its 33rd anniversary to confirm that all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause are bound to fail.
Yassin explained that Hamas had decided to cancel this year’s rally to celebrate its anniversary in order to support the Palestinian people in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, calling on all Palestinians to abide by health guidelines to curb the spread of virus.
He saluted Hamas founder who have set an example in making sacrifice for Palestine and advocating national unity, paying tribute to the late Hamas leaders Abdel Aziz al-Ranitisi, Ibrahim al-Maqademeh, Ismail Abu Shanab, Jamal Mansour and Jamal Salim.
“The founding of Hamas is a turning point in the history of our Palestinian cause,” Yassin stressed, noting that this year’s anniversary came as the Palestinian cause is facing enormous challenges.
Yassin reiterated that Hamas is committed to the national constants until the liberation of Palestine. (ILKHA)
