Coronavirus: Iran reports 11,023 new cases, 323 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 323 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 50,917, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Monday.
After 11,023 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,062,397 in the country.
There are at least 5,780 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 754,224 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 6,477,718 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,552,868 with 68,040,174 cases and more than 47,131,491 recoveries. (ILKHA)
