Coronavirus: Iran reports 10,827 new cases, 284 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 284 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 50,594, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Monday.
After 10,827 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,051,374 in the country.
There are at least 5,796 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 742,955 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 6,432,228 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,543,431 with 67,484,167 cases and more than 46,682,641 recoveries. (ILKHA)
