Coronavirus: Iran reports 12,151 new cases, 321 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 321 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 50,016, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Saturday.
After 12,151 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,028,986 in the country.
There are at least 5,817 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 719,708 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 6,342,628 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,527,348 with 66,378,521 cases and more than 45,947,434 recoveries. (ILKHA)
