Coronavirus: Iran reports 13,922 new cases, 358 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 358 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 49,348, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 13,922 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,003,494 in the country.
There are at least 5,824 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 699,315 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 6,256,715 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,476,277 with 63,691,642 cases and more than 44,079,695 recoveries. (ILKHA)
