Iran reports 14,051 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
After 14,051 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 922,397 in Iran, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
406 more people have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours in the country, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 47,095.
There are at least 5,860 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 640,065 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 5,955,724 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,440,622 with 61,450,624 cases and more than 42,527,881 recoveries. (ILKHA)
