Pakistani PM Imran Khan reaches Afghanistan on a one-day visit
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan visited today Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on the invitation of President Ashraf Ghani.
This is the Prime Minister’s first visit to Afghanistan since assuming office.
Pakistan’s delegation comprises the Foreign Minister, Adviser for Commerce and Investment, and senior officials, according to the Prime Minister’s office.
Upon arrival at Kabul airport, Imran Khan and his delegation was received by Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar and Afghan President's Special Representative for Pakistan Mohammad Umer Daudzai and senior officials.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan and Embassy officials also present.
Khan’s programme includes tete-e-tete with President Ashraf Ghani, delegation-level talks, and joint press stake-out.
The focus would be on further deepening the fraternal bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Afghan peace process, and regional economic development and connectivity. (ILKHA)
