“As I have the clear assessment that I no longer have the sufficient support among a majority of the parliamentary parties, I have today informed the Prime Minister that I am retiring from the government,” Jensen said.

In earlier November, a mutated strain of COVID-19 known as "cluster 5" was detected among minks, leading the Danish Government to order the culling of 17 million minks in order to prevent a resurgence in COVID-19 cases.

The mink crisis has become the greatest challenge test of PM Mette Frederiksen since the coronavirus outbreak.

Since 27 June 2019, Mogens Jensen, from the social democratic party Socialdemokratiet, has served as Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries in the Mette Frederiksen I cabinet, as well as being Minister for Gender Equality and Minister for Nordic Cooperation. (ILKHA)
