Iran reports 419 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours
After 12,543 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 762,068 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Sunday.
419 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 41,493.
There are at least 5,666 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 558,818 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 5,505,070 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,320,280 with 54,451,199 cases and more than 37,967,932 recoveries. (ILKHA)
