10 people die in fire at COVID-19 intensive care unit in Romania
Ten people died and at least 7 others are injured by a fire at COVID-19 intensive care unit of a public hospital in the northern city of Piatra Neamt, Romania’s agency for emergency situations (ISU) said.
“Yesterday, November 14, 2020, around 19: 00, a fire was reported at the Intensive Care Unit of the County Emergency Hospital in Piatra Neamt,” the agency said
The fire killed at least 10 people with another 7 injured, including a doctor, with all the deceased people patients recovering from COVID-19, according to the agency.
The process to identify the victims was completed, the agency added.
Romania has so far reported more than 353,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and nearly 9,000 related deaths. (ILKHA)
