Palestine reports 6 coronavirus deaths, 730 new cases within 24 hours
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Friday that 6 new deaths associated with COVID-19 were recorded during the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of deaths in Palestine since the beginning of the pandemic to 617 deaths.
The Ministry confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 730 new cases of coronavirus were recorded, which brings the total number of infections to 72,967 cases, while 506 recoveries were recorded, bringing the number of recoveries to 64,431.
Mai al-Kailah, the Palestinian Minister of Health, said that the new deaths were recorded for two male citizens, 38 and 84 years, from Jenin, three men, 65, 90 and 79 years, from Tulkarem, and a male citizen, 70, from the Gaza Strip.
She added that new cases were recorded as follows: al-Khalil (46), Nablus (152), Bethlehem (57), Qalqilya (19), Ramallah and Al-Bireh (43), Jenin (35), Jericho and Al-Aghwar (10), Salfit (46), Tulkarem (30), Tubas (5), Gaza Strip (274), and the suburbs of Jerusalem (13), indicating that 4,646 examinations were conducted.
The minister explained that recovery cases were recorded according to the following: al-Khalil (52), Jenin (44), Nablus (100), Tulkarem (35), Salfit (15), Qalqilya (5), and the Gaza Strip (255).
The recovery rate of coronavirus reached 88.1 percent while the rate of active infections reached 11.1 percent, and the death rate was 0.8% of all infections.
Kailah pointed out that there are 40 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 10 who have been placed on ventilators. (ILKHA)
