Iran reports 11,780 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
After 11,780 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 715,068 in Iran, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
462 more people have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours in the country, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 39,664.
There are at least 5,601 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 536,105 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 5,344,821 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,282,136 with 51,951,960 cases and more than 36,492,788 recoveries. (ILKHA)
