Coronavirus: Iran reports 10,339 new cases, 453 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 453 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 39,202, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
After 10,339 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 703,288 in the country.
There are at least 5,584 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 530,694 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 5,3 million tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,271,376 with 51,358,916 cases and more than 36,147,663 recoveries. (ILKHA)
