Coronavirus: Iran reports 8,452 new cases, 419 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 424 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 37,409, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 8,864 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 663,800 in the country.
There are at least 5,495 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 509,952 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 5,140,000 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,241,878 with 49,171,281 cases and more than 35,073,431 recoveries. (ILKHA)
