Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 32,616
Iran has reported 296 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 32,616, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Sunday.
After 6,191 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 568,896 in the country.
There are at least 4,969 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 455,054 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,719,597 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,155,938 with 43,023,517 cases and more than 31,721,346 recoveries. (ILKHA)
