Coronavirus: Iran reports 5,471 new cases, 322 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 304 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 31,650, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 5,471 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 550,757 in the country.
There are at least 4,895 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 442,674 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,628,866 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,137,693 with 41,570,428 cases and more than 30,957,964 recoveries. (ILKHA)
