Coronavirus: Iran reports 5,039 new cases, 322 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 322 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 31,034, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
After 5,039 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 539,670 in the country.
There are at least 4,810 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 434,676 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,570,243 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,124,227 with 40,720,947 cases and more than 30,400,961 recoveries. (ILKHA)
