Brazil’s coronavirus death toll approaches 154,000
The number of confirmed cases has reached 5,235,344 in the country, an increase of 10,982 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
Brazil is the third-hardest hit by the virus worldwide after the United States and India.
215 more people have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 153,905.
More than 4,650,030 patients suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
Sao Paulo, the country’s most-populated state, continues to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil.
The state has so far reported more than 1.06 million confirmed coronavirus cases, with at least 38,020 deaths. (ILKHA)
