Iran reports 4,552 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
265 more people have died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the highest daily toll since the pandemic broke out in Iran in February, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
The number of deaths due to the virus has reached 29,870 in the country, Lari noted.
After 4,552 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 522,387 in the country.
There are at least 4,684 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 420,910 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,454,570 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,104,159 with 39,251,814 cases and more than 29,422,282 recoveries. (ILKHA)
