Erdoğan, Putin talk over phone
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish Presidency Directorate of Communications announced in a statement on Wednesday.
During the conversation in which the steps aimed at enhancing the relations between Turkey and Russia were discussed, and the Azerbaijan-Armenia issue as well as the situations in Syria and Libya were reviewed, according to the statement.
Stating that Armenia, which caused a new crisis by attacking Azerbaijani lands, was trying to make its nearly 30-year old occupation permanent, Erdoğan noted that Turkey, within the framework of its status in the Minsk Group and of its bilateral relations, was in favor of a lasting solution to the issue.
Erdoğan also underscored that the momentum gained in the political resolution process of the Syrian crisis should be preserved. (ILKHA)
