Coronavirus: Iran reports 4,830 new cases, 279 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 279 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 29,349, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
After 4,830 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 513,219 in the country.
There are at least 4,609 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 414,831 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,398,723 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,092,100 with 38,435,977 cases and more than 28,891,041 recoveries. (ILKHA)
