UK reports highest daily increase in coronavirus deaths since June
The United Kingdom has reported 143 new deaths from coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 57,690, the Department of Health and Social Care announced in a statement on Tuesday.
As of 6:01 pm 13 October, 634,920 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the UK, an increase of 17,234 cases in the last 24 hours.
There are more cases in the UK than are confirmed, for example where people are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms and do not get tested, according to the department.
At least 25,697,164 tests have been conducted in the country to detect infections, an increase of 219,074 tests in the last 24 hours. (ILKHA)
