Train collides with bus in central Thailand: 20 dead, 30 injured
A train collided with a bus in Thailand's Chachoengsao province on Sunday morning, killing at least 20 bus passengers, injuring 30 others.
The accident occurred around 8 a.m. local time when the 60 bus passengers from Samut Prakan province were heading to Chachoengsao, 80 km east of the capital Bangkok, the local officials said.
The injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals by rescue workers, local reports said.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
Thailand has the second-highest traffic fatality rate in the world, according to a 2018 report by the World Health Organization. (ILKHA)
