Azerbaijan: At least 7 civilians killed in Armenian missile attack on Ganja
Armenian Armed Forces has killed at least 7 civilians, including children and women, in a missile attack on Ganja, western Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani president’s assistant Hikmet Hajiyev said earlier on Sunday.
“In the midst of night Ganja city came under missile attack of Armenia. 3 residential buildings destroyed. As of now 7+civilians, as well as women killed. 33 civilians inlc kids seriously wounded. Armenia hides itself behind humanitarian ceasefire to attack Azerbaijani civilians,” Hajiyev tweeted.
“Armenia's state level policy of terror continues. Impunity of Armenia encourages it for further war crimes and military crimes. Misusing humanitarian truce Armenia indiscriminately fired densely populated residential part Ganja,” Hajiyev added.
Heavy fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces erupted in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region on September 27.
Azerbaijani and Armenian sides agreed to start substantive talks over Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday.
The ceasefire started at noon on October 10, according to a document agreed upon by Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian foreign ministers in Moscow.
However, Armenia has continued its attacks in violation of temporary humanitarian truce. (ILKHA)
