Coronavirus: Iran reports 4,392 new cases, 239 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 239 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 27,888, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 4,392 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 488,236 in the country.
There are at least 4,335 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 399,300 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,230,000 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,061,522 with 36,450,127 cases and more than 27,445,819 recoveries. (ILKHA)
