Germany reports a spike in daily confirmed coronavirus infections
4,058 more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Germany over the last 24 hours, according to Robert Koch Institute.
“The current situation worries me a lot. We don't know how things will develop over the next few weeks," said Lothar Wieler, head of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for coronavirus cases in Germany.
"We got through the summer relatively well. Some claim that this shows that the virus is not so dangerous after all – this is a fallacy. Not so many people have died because we have taken action & adhered to it, “ Wieler added.
As of October 8, the RKI has officially reported 310,144 cases, about 9,578 deaths and approximately 267,700 recoveries. (ILKHA)
