United States reports 47,389 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
920 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 212,728, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 144,767 deaths, India with 99,837 deaths and Mexico with 78,078 deaths.
7,500,768 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 47,389 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 4,737,462 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 108,470,753 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 494,607 confirmed cases, with at least 33,266 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 1,028,749 people across the world. (ILKHA)
