Fishermen on strike in Gaza in solidarity with killed fishermen
Fishermen in Gaza Strip went on strike on Sunday in protest at the Egyptian shooting of three Palestinian fishermen who went few meters into Egyptian territorial waters at dawn Friday.
Local sources said that the fishermen were on strike in rejection of Egyptian and israeli targeting of them while fishing at sea.
The fishermen committees said that there will be no fishing starting today Sunday and until afternoon Monday in solidarity with family of the three brothers who were shot at by Egyptian army soldiers killing two of them and wounding the third who was then arrested.
For its part, the HAMAS Movement strongly condemned the incident in a statement on Saturday evening and demanded a quick investigation.
Hamas said that it found no reason or logic for the repeated violent acts against fishermen looking for their families’ sustenance. (ILKHA)
