United States reports 942 new deaths due to new coronavirus over the past 24 hours
942 more people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 207,621, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 139,883 deaths, India with 92,587 deaths and Mexico with 75,439 deaths.
7,191,636 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 45,355 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 4,437,575 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
At least 101,576,073 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 486,979 confirmed cases, with at least 33,193 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 989,055 people across the world. (ILKHA)
